Sarawak’s many ethnic groups produce a very wide range of traditional handicrafts using natural materials of the jungles and forests. These craft skills are still very much alive.

With the support of the Sarawak Craft Council, Crafthub was set up in 2008 by a team who understand the various crafts of Sarawak, have experience in the marketing of arts and crafts, and have an appreciation of the needs and tastes of the international market, and who are passionate about bringing Sarawak craftwork to that wider world.

Crafthub promotes handicrafts as a worthwhile occupation that provides a viable living for local craftspeople, and endeavours to encourage the younger generation into craft-oriented careers before many skills inherent in Sarawak’s craft heritage are lost.
